Component QC Engineer (Robot R&D)

I.Job Purpose 

Responsible for quality control, evaluation, and validation of components, modules, and assemblies used in Robot R&D projects. Ensure components meet technical requirements, quality standards, reliability expectations, and assembly requirements before being released for prototype builds and production BOMs. 

II.Key Responsibilities 

1.Component Quality Inspection & Evaluation 

Perform quality inspection and evaluation for one or more of the following component categories: 

  • Electronic components and modules (PCB, PCBA, wiring harness, connectors, sensors, control modules, etc.) 

  • Electric motors and drive systems (BLDC motors, servo motors, gear motors, encoders, etc.) 

  • Mechanical parts and assemblies (machined parts, sheet metal parts, fixtures, jigs, and assemblies) 

2. Technical Verification & Testing 

  • Verify components against drawings, datasheets, specifications, and design requirements. 

  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and functional verification tests. 

  • Identify, analyze, and document quality issues, assembly concerns, and functional failures. 

  • Support incoming quality inspection (IQC) activities for R&D components when required. 

3. Validation & Failure Analysis 

  • Participate in component validation activities before release to prototype builds or official BOMs. 

  • Perform basic failure analysis and root cause investigation for component-related issues. 

  • Work closely with R&D teams to implement corrective actions and quality improvements. 

4. Quality Documentation & Continuous Improvement 

  • Prepare inspection reports, validation records, and quality documentation. 

  • Develop and maintain QC checklists, inspection standards, and validation criteria. 

  • Support supplier quality evaluation and component qualification activities when required. 

 

III.Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or related fields. 

IV.Technical Requirements 

Candidates should have strong knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: 

Electronics 

  • Understanding of electronic circuits, PCB/PCBA, wiring, connectors, and electronic components. 

  • Familiarity with test equipment such as Multimeter, Oscilloscope, and DC Power Supply. 

Motors & Motion Systems 

  • Understanding of electric motors, BLDC motors, servo motors, gear motors, and encoders. 

  • Ability to evaluate basic performance parameters such as current, temperature, speed, vibration, and feedback signals. 

Mechanical Components 

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements. 

  • Experience using common mechanical measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. 

General Skills 

  • Basic understanding of Quality Control (QC), Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Validation, and Reliability Testing. 

V.Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working with Robots, AGVs, AMRs, or automation equipment. 

  • Experience in component inspection, testing, validation, or hardware quality engineering. 

  • Experience supporting prototype builds and new product development (R&D) projects. 

  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN Bus, UART, I2C, or RS485 is a plus. 

  • 1–3 years of experience in QC Engineering, Validation Engineering, Component Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or related roles.
