Career
Structural Simulation Engineer
- Ha Noi
- Fulltime
Key Responsibilities:
Structural & Durability Simulation
Perform structural, durability, and thermal simulations for humanoid robot components using finite element (FE) methods.
Build high-quality FE models of robot structures (frame, joints, limbs, battery housing, gearboxes) using ANSA or similar pre-processing tools.
Conduct stress, deformation, modal, thermal, and load-path analyses to ensure structural safety and thermal efficiency under dynamic robot motions.
Identify potential failure modes and provide design optimization recommendations to meet strength, durability, and thermal performance targets.
Correlation & Validation
Compare and correlate simulation results with physical testing to improve model accuracy and reliability.
Support test planning and define structural, thermal, and operational load cases for robot motions, impacts, drops, and repetitive cycles.
Collaboration
Work closely with mechanical design, test, electronics, thermal, and control engineering teams to ensure alignment of simulation results with physical testing.
Participate in continuous improvement of modeling, meshing, and simulation methodology for high-performance robotic systems.
Requirements:
Degree/Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronis, Robotics, or a related technical fields.
Knowledge/Skills
3+ years of experience in CAE structural or durability simulation.
Strong proficiency with at least one solver: Ansys, Abaqus.
Expertise in FE model creation and meshing.
Solid understanding of mechanics, strength of materials, and FE analysis methods.
Experience with thermal simulation tools (such as Ansys Thermal, Abaqus Heat Transfer, or similar) for evaluating heat flow, temperature distribution, and thermal management of components is an advantage.
Experience with robotic structures, lightweight components, or precision mechanisms is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) is beneficial.
Personal Characteristics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Able to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure startup environments.
Strong multitasking and project-management capability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in humanoid robots, exoskeletons, industrial robots, or lightweight structural design.
Familiarity with robot load cases, actuator interfaces, and dynamic motions.
