Job Overview 

VinMotion is pioneering the next generation of AI-driven humanoid robotics, addressing global labor shortages and redefining automation. We are committed to advancing autonomous robotic motion with intelligent, adaptive, and real-time motion control systems that mimic human dexterity and agility. 

VinMotion USA is seeking an innovative Head of AI Motion to lead the development of AI-driven motion planning, control, and reinforcement learning strategies for humanoid robots. This role requires expertise in Reinforcement Learning (RL), Whole-Body Control (WBC), Optimal Control, Imitation Learning, and AI-powered Motion Planning. You will play a key role in shaping the future of dynamic, real-time, and intelligent robotic movement. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Innovation 

  • Define and implement the long-term AI Motion roadmap, ensuring alignment with VinMotion’s vision and product strategy. 

  • Drive innovation in Whole-Body Motion Control, Reinforcement Learning (RL)-based Motion Planning, Imitation Learning, and Model-Based Control strategies. 

  • Develop adaptive learning mechanisms to ensure robust and efficient motion control in real-world environments. 

AI Research & Development 

  • Develop and refine Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Imitation Learning models for skill acquisition, agility, and adaptive motion control. 

  • Implement Whole-Body Control (WBC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategies to ensure real-time adaptation, energy efficiency, and balance. 

  • Optimize real-time motion planning, trajectory generation, and robot locomotion using Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) frameworks (e.g., PPO, SAC, DDPG). 

  • Utilize Sim2Real techniques to bridge the gap between simulated training environments and real-world deployment. 

  • Enhance collision avoidance, force control, and torque-based control mechanisms with AI-powered predictive modeling. 

  • Optimize AI motion models for low-latency, real-time execution on edge computing devices. 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Build and mentor a world-class team of AI engineers, robotics experts, and motion control specialists. 

  • Foster a culture of rapid prototyping, AI-driven innovation, and continuous learning. 

  • Ensure seamless collaboration across AI, control, hardware, and simulation teams to enable effective motion integration. 

Compliance, Risk Management & Safety 

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to AI-based motion planning, real-world stability, and human-robot interaction safety. 

  • Ensure compliance with US robotics safety standards and AI ethics best practices. 

  • Develop fail-safe mechanisms for AI-driven motion execution in unpredictable environments. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Impact 

  • Act as the AI Motion ambassador, presenting cutting-edge research and motion strategies to executives, investors, and product teams. 

  • Work closely with robotics hardware teams, UX designers, and AI software developers to bring real-time motion capabilities to market. 

  • Represent VinMotion at leading AI & robotics conferences, research forums, and industry summits. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in AI, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • Experience: 

  • 10+ years in AI-driven robotics, reinforcement learning, or motion planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

  • Proven expertise in real-world implementation of AI motion control for humanoid robots or autonomous systems. 

  • Strong background in robot kinematics, sensor fusion, and human-like motion generation. 

  • Technical Expertise: 

  • Extensive experience in Reinforcement Learning (RL), Imitation Learning, and Model Predictive Control (MPC). 

  • Deep knowledge of Whole-Body Control, trajectory optimization, and dynamic locomotion strategies. 

  • Proficiency in Python, C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and real-time robotics frameworks (ROS, Mujoco, Gazebo, Isaac Gym, etc.). 

  • Hands-on experience with edge AI deployment for real-time motion execution. 

  • Leadership & Business Acumen: 

  • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and AI innovation at an executive level. 

  • Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
